Hey there,

I am currently working on my first TEC project. The calculated cooling power to keep a circulating fluid at 4°C is about 67 watts (at normal room temperature). Unfortunately, there a quite many uncertanties which might increase the cooling power I need. For this reason, I would like to include a margin of safety by installing about twice the calculated cooling power (130 watts). I didn´t quite finish my calculations for TEC elements I need to install, but consider it around a Qc max of 600 watts. These elements should consume about half Vmax and Imax.


Here comes my question:
Lets say my initial calculations were correct and no more than about 67 watts of cooling power are needed to keep the fluid at 4°C. Will my TEC buildup do the job by running at a lower voltage/current than half Vmax/Imax?

I want to make sure that my buildup has enough power in the first try. This is a university project and adding more cooling power after a first expiriment with too little cooling power installed just looks bad ;)
